We teach you the detailed techniques of proactive clinical risk management and DCB 0129 / DCB 0160 compliance.

Safehand’s two-day onsite clinical safety training course will teach you how to ensure that patient safety is put first when you implement health IT. Our clinical risk management training focuses not just on what needs to be achieved but on the practicalities of how this can be achieved with the resources you have available. For example, we'll cover such topics as:

  • How to communicate with suppliers who are reluctant to share their DCB 0129 materials or provide poor quality documents
  • How to run risk management workshops to ensure they are productive and focused
  • How to make a hazard log useful and a driver of success rather than just a piece of paperwork to tick a box
  • Options for structuring a Clinical Risk Management Team to incorporate the CSO, Top Management and supporting personnel.

Courses are led by Dr Adrian Stavert-Dobson an experienced Clinical Safety Officer, trainer and author of the seminal book on clinical risk management.

Note: We have recently experienced huge demand for courses and we are delivering them alternate weeks. Please book with us as soon as possible to guarantee your place. Also, due to the demand, unfortunately we are not able to train individual practitioners. Instead we focus on teaching groups of 6+ attendees within a particular healthcare organisation to facilitate discussion and mutual learning.

Clinical Risk Management Course features

  • Clinical safety training courses are run over two consecutive days on your site so you don’t need to travel.
  • You can invite as many personnel from your organisation as you like. This helps to develop a culture of clinical safety rather than it be the domain of just your Clinical Safety Officer.
  • NHS England can validate that it is not necessary to attend their own Accredited Clinician Course. Our course can be used as an alternative to that provided by NHS England or as a masterclass to build on existing knowledge.
  • Our course is flexible so that the trainer can concentrate on areas which are particularly relevant to you. Whether that’s learning to talk to suppliers and customers about safety, implications of the Medical Device Regulation or gaining a better understanding of the role of the Clinical Safety Officer, we will give you the help that is relevant to you and your organisation.
  • You are able to claim a total of 11 CPD points from attending the course.
